We have a copy of Ingenious Women kindly donated by our patron, Deborah
Jaffé, to send to the fastest ideas21 member to complete our Ingenious
Woman crossword. In this fascinating book, Deborah introduces the women who saw themselves as inventors, electricians, engineers, milliners, nurses, motorcar drivers, gentlewomen, spinsters, wives or duchesses, and gives them their rightful title of 'ingenious women'. The outbreak of the First World War was a watershed in women's lives but, as this book shows, their innovative ideas had already been making an impact on all our lives for nearly 300 years. A short but by no means an easy puzzle this month. To complete the crossword click on the clue and start to type. The boxes will automatically be filled in as you type. Use the "arrow" keys to change the direction that you type - i.e. from across to down and vice versa. Once completed click on the "submit" button and send us your details. Closing date for submissions is Friday 19th March. |
